Itinerary for "Cycle Montana"

Day 1 Sunday, June 19 Registration/Kick Off Meeting/Dinner   0 miles

Day 2 Monday, June 20 Bozeman to Ennis 47 miles
Today’s ride will start out with rolling hills through high-plains country and a section adjacent to the famous Madison River. Our overnight location will be in the small town of Ennis, a fly-fishing mecca.

Day 3 Tuesday, June 21 Ennis to Dillon 72 miles
Today's ride starts with a long climb to a high ridge offering stunning views of the Madison mountain range. We will then descend past the historic towns of Virginia City and Nevada City. The route then takes us to Twin Bridges, where we will change direction and head toward the ranch lands of the Dillon Valley.

Day 4 Wednesday, June 22 Dillon to Wise River 75 miles
Today, we’ll begin with a long, gradual climb up Badger Pass, from which we’ll plunge down into the beautiful Big Hole Valley. Then we’ll ride up the Grasshopper Valley on a scenic byway which splits the beautiful Pioneer Mountain range. After this climb, we’ll enjoy a nice cruise along the scenic Wise River.

Day 5 Thursday, June 23 Wise River to Butte 56 miles
Today's ride heads west along the Big Hole River before turning up Mill Creek and continuing over the Continental Divide. We will then descend into the wide open Silver Bow valley, and make our way to the historic city of Butte.

Day 6 Friday, June 24 Layover day in Butte 0 miles

Day 7 Saturday, June 25 Butte to Three Forks 63 miles
Today's ride will start with a moderate climb up Pipestone Pass and another Continental Divide crossing. Descending from the top, we will ride through lots of dry, open farmland until our route meets the scenic Jefferson River.

Day 8 Sunday, June 26 Three Forks to Bozeman 37 miles
Today's ride will take us east along the Gallatin River, through more high rolling ranchlands, wheat fields, and a few more small towns on the way back to our start point in Bozeman.

Total Mileage: 350 mi. Average Daily Mileage: 58 miles/day
